You can read a full detailed review of the book in this post. There is a combination of empowering coloring pages, narrative journal prompts to encourage self-reflection, and doodle pages for venting and being creative. What sets this book apart is that it’s a hybrid book for the writer and artist. I wasn’t the only one looking for a positive book to lift up the girls in my life. They loved it, so I left the book up for purchase on Amazon and watched – amazed – as the orders rolled in. So, being a writer and former teacher, I sat down and wrote a book for them with the messages I wanted them to know. What Inspired the Empowering Coloring Pages?Ī couple of years ago I was looking for a unique gift for my tween nieces and couldn’t find anything new on the market that inspired me. Here in this post, you can download 5 of the coloring pages for free! These are part of a set of 25 that are featured in a book I wrote for the tween or teen girl. With fun prints and powerful quotes, from “You Can Do Hard Things!” to motivating quotes by inspiring thought leaders like Michelle Obama, Amelia Earhart, Oprah and many more, these pages will be sure to give you a boost. Knowing how important it is to build up the tweens and teens around us, I wanted to create some coloring pages that kids, tweens, teens and even adults would love.

That’s why I love the quote by Nancy Carlson, “If speaking kindly to plants helps them grow, imagine what speaking kindly to humans can do.”Įncouraging and empowering our teens can make such a difference in their self-esteem, effort and future success. One thing I learned for sure is that teens may seem like they aren’t listening – but they are soaking in everything that people are saying to them – both good and bad. Teaching was an incredible experience and I sometimes feel like my students taught me more than I taught them. It’s one of the accomplishments in my life that I am most proud of. Fun fact about me: I taught middle-school English for years before transitioning to freelance writing.
